In Loving Memory of one of Kensington Park's Best!
Andy Ernst, longtime resident of Kensington Park passed peacefully at his home on April 23, 2018.  He was 94.  Andy was an avid gardener and for years was the sole volunteer who looked after the entrances into Kensington Park.   Many of us remember Andy working at pruning and cutting to make sure we always looked good as you entered the neighborhood.  He had been an active member of the Kensington Park Garden Club.  He leaves his wife Ann, son Drew and daughters Judy and Ann Marie.  Thank you Andy for all you did for us.  May your garden in heaven be as lovely as the ones you kept here!

Next Meeting is June 12, 2018

Did you get your bumper sticker?  These little 1.5" stickers do more than you know!  They identify your vehicle as being part of the Kensington Park Community Association which includes the neighborhoods of Kensington Park and Groveland.  Our neighborhood watch volunteers can tell if the car in the driveway is the homeowners or not.  If it looks suspicious and has no sticker we can ask for the police to come.  We can cut down on house burglaries this way.  The police can also identify cars that belog in the neighborhood and can and will ask a suspicious looking vehicle what business they have here.  On the fun side you can share the pride in your neighborhood.  If you need one contact us at kensingtongroveland@gmail.com

Do you have a story you'd like to share, or maybe some old photos of Kensington Park or Groveland?  Share them with us.  Contact Pam Miller at pamlovessavannah@aol.com for more info!

Goodbye dear friend!  CPO Norm Harvey, who most of will remember fondly as "our police officer" in Kensington Park and Groveland, has retired from the police department and will now be working closer to his home in Claxton, GA.  That's right, Officer Harvey took that trip every day to be able to protect and serve Savannah.  We credit Officer Harvey with being able to help us get our residents more comfortable with the police.  He knew most of the residents by name, but absolutely knew their dogs by name!  He was often seen out walking and talking to neighbors.  That one on one relationship helped ease peoples conscience when they called 911 to report something "suspicious"  Prior to Norm, we often heard, "well, we don't want to bother the officers if it's nothing".  Norm convinced them that it was what they did and to please call. That resulted in our neighbors actually interrupting home burglaries on several occasions making Kensington Park and Groveland safer than ever.  We will miss you Norm and your style of policing.  Best of luck to you and your family.
